Learn Some Tamang Language....!

Here are some of the tamang words... that im going to let you all know today.. This are words that i get from some sites and also from me... I hope, you'll find it useful. And, here it is :-


Lets start from very normal and simple ( basic ) ones :


म= ङ
हामी= याङ
तिमी/तँ = ए
तपाईं= ह्राङ
ऊ /उनि /त्यो = हे / थे
हामीहरु =याङकादे
तपाईंहरु = ह्राङनिकादे
उनीहरु/तिनीहरु = हेनिकादे/थेनिकादे

तामाङ भाषामा "को" भन्नलाई "ला" भनिन्छ, जस्तै:

रामको = रामला
नेपालको = नेपालला
काठमाडौँको = काठमाडौँला
#तामाङ भाषामा "मा" भन्नलाई "री" भनिन्छ, जस्तै:
कोठामा= कोठारी
गोठालोमा= गोठालोरी
नेपालमा = नेपालरी
#तामाङ भाषामा "ले" भन्नलाई "से" भनिन्छ, जस्तै:
रमेशले = रमेशसे
जिन्दगीले= जिन्दगीसे
खुशीले = खुशीसे
#तामाङ भाषामा "सँग" भन्नलाई "जा" ( da ) in some places  भनिन्छ, जस्तै:
रामसँग = रामजा ( da )
भारतसँग = भारतजा (da)
देशसँग =देशजा (da)

#तामाङ भाषामा "छ" भन्नलाई "मुला" भनिन्छ, जस्तै:

म सँग कलम छ = ङजा कलम मुला
नेपालसँग शक्ति छ = नेपालजा शक्ति मुला
हामीसंग मेलमिलाप छ = याङजा मेलमिलाप मुला

#तामाङ भाषामा "हो" भन्नलाई "हिन्ना" भनिन्छ, जस्तै:
म गिता हो = ङ गिता हिन्ना
ऊ रमेश हो = हे/थे रमेश हिन्ना
म मान्छे हो = ङ मान्छे ( म्ही) हिन्ना

तामाङ भाषामा "ले" भन्नलाई "से" भनिन्छ जस्तै:

उसले/उनले = हेसे/ थेसे
तपाईंले = ह्राङसे
तर "मैले" भन्नलाई "ङसे" भनिन्न ,त्यसको सट्टामा "ङई"/"ङआई" भनिन्छ

तामाङ भाषामा परिचय: (पेम्ब र डोल्मा को बीचमा)


पेम्ब: ल्हस्सो/फ्यफुल्ल आङा !
डोल्मा: ल्हस्सो/फ्यफुल्ल ज्योज्यो !
पेम्ब: ह्रङ्ला (आईला) मीन (छन) तिला(तिक)आङा ?
डोल्मा: ङाला मीन चा डोल्मा ज्योज्यो,ह्रङ्ला चा मीन?
पेम्ब: ङाला चा पेम्ब, ह्राङ तिला ह्रुई आङा ?
डोल्मा: ङमी वाइबा ज्योज्यो, ह्रङ्मी ?
पेम्ब: ङला चा ह्रुई जिम्बा ।
डोल्मा: ए ज्योज्यो ह्यङ मी स्वङ्गेका पारप तचीम ।
पेम्ब: ल्हस्सो आङा, एमी (आइमी) ङाला भुरिङ पारप ताचिम ।
डोल्मा: ङालामी सेम ल्हानन ताङ्ची ज्योज्यो ए मायुङ ह्रुप तामा ।
Translation in English:

Pemba: Hi/Hello Sis !
Dolma: Hi/Hello Bro !
Pemba: What's your name sis?
Doma: My name is Dolma Bro and yours?
Pemba: Mine is Pemba and what's your family(clan) name?
Dolma: I am Waiba bro, how about you?
Pemba: I am Jimba
Dolma: Oh! brother we belong to same brotherhood (Swange).
Pemba: Yes ! sister, you become my own clan sister (by brotherhood).
Dolma: I am so happy to see my own clan brother(Mayung).

Well, two things to understand: SWANGE- for example Moktan, Pakhrin and Syangdan are SWANGE, they all become sisters or brothers by the group of Swange(brotherhood). They can not marry to each other. Other than these are KUTUMBA for Moktan Pakhrin and Syangdan. They can maryy to them(Kutumba)s.

Per tamang tradition no marriage is allowed within SWANGES.

Buring is your own sister from same parents or Clan; Mayung is own brother from same parents or Clan.

दोर्जे र निमा बिचको तामाङ भाषामा संबाद
दोर्जे : ओहो निमा ए हानाङ (खालाङ्) नि लाबा ?
निमा : ङा बुरी सुन दुइबारि निई नाबा दोर्जे, ए चा हानाङ् नि लाबा ॐ?
दोर्जे : आलेला जन्ती हादाम्जी ॐ , सामान ग्लुबारी याम्बुरी नि लाबा म्हाले
निमा : ए ! हिन्ना ? एला आलेला जन्ती हाइमा (खाईमा) लसेला ॐ?
दोर्जे : चु हाबा फागुन ला च्युई रे कुनु ।
निमा : ङा ताई ङ्योइला कि?
दोर्जे : ओहो एन्ना दिम्ला जाम्मा तन चुलो निम्तो मुला, ए अहाना ताला ? ए हासिमम् ह्रो लातोजि म्हाले ।
निमा : या हिनम्, ङा एन हाला दोर्जे एला आलेला जन्तीरि दात्ते ङा निजी या ?
दोर्जे : या बिस्तार से निउ
निमा : ए एन बिस्तार से निउ या दोर्जे



English translation of conversation between Dorje and Nima


Dorje : hello Nima, where are you going ?
Nima: I m going to harvest the paddy plant, and you ?
Dorje: My brother's wedding ceremony is comming soon, so I m going to Kathmandu for shopping.
Nima : Oh, really ? When is your brother's wedding ceremony beeing arranged ?
Dorje : On 10th of comming "Fagung" month.
Nima: Will you call me ?
Dorje : oh, you have group invitation for your family. Your attendence is potential. You have to come and you must assist.
Nima: If so, ok. I will also come on your brother's marridge ceremony. Now I will go. Ok ?
Dorje : Ok, take care.
Nima : You also take care.
